Software Trainer Reviews
What is it like working as a Software Trainer?
March 2015
Travel for Training.
Software Trainer:
Pros: The job looks glamours from the outside - lots of travel to great cities, nice hotels, superb restaurants with a decent expense account. I'm not managing my own desk in the same old office with unpaid overtime and lots of stress. I get to meet a lot of really nice people all over the country and people are generally glad I'm there to help them out. Being a natural teacher, it's exciting to see the light bulb go on and a big smile when the user finally understands the new system and appreciates the benefits of an upgrade.
Cons: The travel is a double edged sword. While it's exciting to fly into a new city, I'm still working from 8-5 and don't have time to sight see unless I arrive early or stay an extra day on my own time and dime. And I'm away from home - no evenings with friends and they don't always call now because I travel so often. I can't have pets because I'm gone. If I travel 3 weeks in a month which happens a lot I don't ever put away the suitcase and it can be unsettling.
