If you start in the right role, it can be a great place to start a career - there are lots of opportunities to learn new skills and make an impact. As you move up though, upper management makes lots of promises but rarely follows through (ex. Promises additional resources, but then denies them at the last minute due to "budget cuts", continual hiring freezes but an ever-increasing amount of work, most of which just falls on the manager). The pay isn't great, and it rewards mediocre performance - the top performers make a couple thousand more than the average at the end of the year, but definitely not enough to compensate for all the extra time worked in order to be a top performer.

Great company. Have been with Yum! For a few years in a couple different roles at one of the brands. Though work is concentrated among fewer people since the restructuring, they still maintain a great culture and excellent work life balance (e.g half day Fridays all year long). Smart co-workers, always willing to help and educate.

One of the things I love most about my role is that I get to work on solving large ambiguous problems that often have sizable impact for the organization.

Work hard, always learn, but more than that always be human and remember that everyone around you is also doing their best. Help others to reach new high marks while involving them in the investment that is your success.
