Senior Counsel in San Jose:
Pros: The weather is hard to beat. Close to San Francisco and Santa Cruz, so lots of things to do, state and county parks so it is easy to get away. Exciting technology and bright colleagues.
Cons: The weather is hard to beat, people here pay a sunshine tax through higher cost of living, commute hours, potholes, etc. Sometimes getting out to town is a hassle due to weekend traffic, close by areas as crowded. Housing costs are just too high. Lower-income workers must have roommates or multi-generational housing. Some people commute 2-3 hours into silicon valley.
