What is it like working as a Security Officer?

Very degrading and people do not respect us.
Security Officer:
Pros: That we know we are trying to protect a billion dollar company from very possible threats that are visible every day.
Cons: That we work in a very hostile work environment and that there is obvious corruption within the department all the way up to the higher ups in the company. Does not give that feel that we are working for an honest or safe environment.

Pros: Preventing crime to happen or goods being stolen a.
Cons: To work without anything to protect my self.

Security Officer:
Pros: The people and kids I watch over at my location.
Cons: They have nothing to offer, but a job and now health benefits.

Pros: Location of job site and low stress.
Cons: Branch Manager intimidates security officers.

Pros: The interaction with all types of people.

Hours.
Security Officer:
At the interview the company says you will be working 40+ hours a week, but it turns out, to save money we only work at most 35 hours a week.

The Allied Barton company.
Security Officer:
Pros: I help people and it is not all that hard of a job.
Cons: No raises. I have been with this company now 4 years and still at the same pay rate I was making 10.10 a hour downtown and I asked to be moved do to construction and they put me in a building making 9.50 a hour then they moved me to another building making 10 a hour.
