Robotics Engineer Reviews

What is it like working as a Robotics Engineer?

October 2020
Work is good, Pittsburgh is okay.
Robotics Engineer in Pittsburgh:
Pros: There are lots of opportunities in Robotics here in Pittsburgh. You will always find interesting work. Pittsburgh itself is kind of meh. The weather is not great, and the outdoors is full of ticks.
Cons: Ticks in the outdoors.

Too quiet for fresh graduate.
Robotics Engineer in Coalville:
Pros: Quiet, small town with good environment
Cons: Stores closed early in weekend. Not much to do. Car ownership is a must

Nice Opportunities, Awesome Variety Of Projects.
Robotics Engineer:
Pros: I like the variety of projects, the deadline driven atmosphere and the different technologies used. I love the fact that there is always some project going on and that most of the times is applied research.
Cons: The compensation and the benefits are not awesome and I think they could be better. Overall the compensation is near the lower end and there are several places where the salary is better (this is somewhat alleviated by the opportunity of having the variety and the overall project experience). The benefits are just basic medical and dental care, it could include a more extensive coverage, yet it's on the "basic" end of the spectrum.
