Be Adaptive and Flexible.
Retail Department Supervisor:
With the current local economy on a downturn, my previous job skills and education have been invluable in "adapting" to revised work requirements and managerial expectations. Personal flexability is needed to adapt to the business changes, and the personal commitment required to do the job correctly. Honesty is vital, and this job had the challenge of requesting from ALL managers the ability and expectation of everyone to communicate thoroughly and completly in ALL circumstances. I preplan my work for each day, and management lets me get things done, only occassionally mentioning new things that may have to get done=this has been an asset and has resulted in less stress. The stress levels have increased the last two years due to transportation issues and not being able to receive the products on due dates. I enjoy merchandising and setting up new products, while watching how customers respond to those products.
