Pros: Working in a team, sharing my experience with people coming from different countries and learning new skills.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Being in the lab the whole day.

Research Scientist:
Pros: Friendly work environment. A lot of paid time off. Flexibility allowed in work schedule. Variety of projects. Ability to learn new instrumentation and analytical methods.
Cons: At times - short deadlines that can require a lot of overtime and weekend work. The work can get very tedious.

Keep a close eye on promotions you deserve. If they don't come to you, you better look for them!

Know computer software better. Take the time to get minor degrees.

The pay isn't great so you will need to really enjoy your work.

Science Flexibility.
Research Scientist:
Agricultural science is a tough path, but can pay well. Many scientists don't make it and that is tough when you've spent so much time in your education. Make sure your major professor is well respected and connected and has a history or graduating his students into jobs or good post-docs. Agribusiness can be rewarding, but there aren't many companies to choose from which means you are restricted to some degree in where you can live.
