Ericsson- Best in the business.
Radio Frequency (RF) Optimization Engineer:
Pros: I have been working for Ericsson for the past 5 years. This is my 4th employer & by far the best. Working with Ericsson feels like working in a family. The work culture is awesome. Proper work processes have been setup by Ericsson. Ericsson strongly believes in diversity. All employees are trained in their respective fields so that we are on the current market level. The offices are pleasant. Ericsson pays special attention towards employee work-life balance & provides regular awareness programs to its employees. As an RF engineer the working time are set flexible with 40hrs a week. We have 2 days holiday every week which keeps our mind fresh everytime we are working. The upper management is excellent & we do interact with them during our All Employee meet which takes place twice a year. The remuneration, perks & benefits provided by Ericsson is well at the market level. Overall Ericsson is a dream organization to work with.
Cons: The internal mobility part where one wishes to switch job to a different department of his interest. Ericsson does have this process of Internal mobility but unfortunately the rejection percentage is much high. My area of expertise is 2G, GSM RF optimization & my interest lies in latest technologies such as LTE. Despite no knowledge on LTE I am looking for a job/training on the latest technologies. However Ericsson fails here to provide jobs or training on such topic to employees who are currently not working on it. No doubt it provides world class training on the topics which are relevant to my current profile but fails to expand my knowledge/growth beyond that.
