Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) Inspector:
Pros: Hands on approach to everything you do, may seem like dirty work but steel can be formed into many incredible structures. There is always something new you learn, the challenges you face everyday keeps things interesting. Being an inspector is one of the most important functions in the steel or mechanical industry and the rewards on the final project isn't the money its the involvement on the job being a part of something that benefits so many people.
Cons: Stressful. The responsibilities are huge. Hours are hectic. Paper work, paper work, paper work.

Pros: Personality fit, looks good on a resume, physical-based.
Cons: Work conditions too hot, expected travel, on-call every day of the week, company is disorganized, low potential for promotion.
