Project Manager, Information Technology (IT):
Pros: I enjoy the interaction with the clinicians and my peers. I enjoy that I am able to be creative in training and orientation and ongoing training of the clinicians. I like that I make a difference in the daily experience of our clinicians - whether troubleshooting with them or helping them shine in the field to our clients. I like that I can telecommute or work from Reston as needed. I like that I am appreciated for what I bring to the culture at LightHouse. I like that I am able to write with confidence to Doctors, Clinicians and staff.
Cons: The 24 hour accessibility - I think about it all the time. When the clinicians cannot get their work done it affects everyone. I would like to feel compensated for that value-added service. I don't like that I have to be there at 8:30 and often stay until 6 b/c the clinicians need me in the morning and in the evening. I would like to respond to email etc in the morning, go for a run or workout and then get to the office at 10 and work til 6. I do not like that I have to answer the office phones - oftentimes these calls take me off task for 10 - 20 minutes and then I have to get back on task. I feel like I am juggling too many hats and need help paring them down and delegating to someone - but who? A receptionist would help the office tremendously.
