Show Value From The Get-Go.
Producer-Director, TV/Cable Broadcast:
Choose a job that fits your skills and surround yourself with a team that speak your artistic / creative language. If there is anything you think you can do better, do it. Fight for taking ownership of an aspect of the company that you know you can lead.

Internships a plus.
Producer-Director, TV/Cable Broadcast:
**This is MY two cents for people interested in the Entertainment world.** While I went to the School of Visual Arts I met many folks who would later run in and out of my career at various points. This version of networking has many benefits, your familiar with that person and from time to time you may need that person to help undertake a project. Add to that, internships in YOUR related field and you can only grow in leaps. So many times I hear stories of people perhaps misplacing their time interning in places other then their own field of interest and I always wonder why. The right internship not only will give you direct knowledge to how the business actually works but most likely give a "go-getter" a great job because as anyone will tell you, once you find a good person you'll be hard pressed to let them go. So stop by your local TV/Radio Station. Marketing firm, Playhouse, etc. These are a step in the right direction.
