Cons: Dishonest vendors, dealing with logistics and a tight schedule.

Know the economic and political environment of every country from where you source your goods and services and know the tax laws of your country as this has an influence on the landing prices/ costs on your local territory.

Pros: Everyday is different. Am able to communicate with suppliers and at the same time the customer services assistants and the production department.

Pros: Being a procurement officer allows me to interact with many different suppliers in order to achieve the goals of the Procurement department at Plascon.
I find it to be a challenge that motivates me.
Cons: The current decentralization of plascon does not allow this department to have overall authority with purchases.

Pros: Fast paced, accuracy and reliabillity on 3rd parties make it qiute interesting and your attitude towards suppliers account a lot for the response you receive regarding stock buyouts.
Cons: The amount of paperwork regarding the complete process of request, order, invoice, grv and finally issuing to your internal sites is immense.
