Principle User Experience Designer Reviews

What is it like working as a Principle User Experience Designer?

May 2019
Good experience, but underwhelming rewards.
Principle User Experience Designer in Huntsville:
Pros: The challenges of working in very restrictive requirements and spaces. Creates opportunity to be creative in that sense but very restrictive.
Cons: The lack of recognition and unclear path forward for career development. My field (User Experience) is very new and under represented in our company. So many times we are simplified in our roles as "make it look good" designers and not for the work we desire to do. Create change and represent the user and what they need.

November 2018
Principle User Experience Designer:
The company is run by a lot of very bright, very ignorant people. “Go and actually talk to customers and find out what they need, what they like, what they don’t like...” And then, “What did you find out after your months of work? Oh no, we’re not going to do that.” Leadership by gut alone, despite the published culture, which is just mouth service.
