Postmaster Reviews

What is it like working as a Postmaster?

March 2020
Micro Managed Postmaster Tired.
Postmaster in Broken Bow:
Pros: I love my employees. Good employees that care and love what they do will make a successful work place. I love taking care of our customers.
Cons: Being micro managed and getting more work with less help.
February 2019
I loved it. I was the postmaster for Andersen AFB for 3 years.
Postmaster in Fort Walton Beach:
Pros: Customers are always priority, I love interacting with them all
Cons: I’ve only had a few situations where I had toxic leadership that had a cloud over the office. Dislike and refuse to follow that
April 2017
WORKING WITH THE PUBLIC - BIG PLUS FOR ME.
Postmaster in New Brunswick:
Pros: My job in New Brunswick was perfect for me because I used both of the province's official languages. People in this area are very friendly. I live close to the water and I enjoy small town life. It was a great place for my husband and I to raise our two daughters. The pay scale was the same for any grade 1 office with a postmaster with the same number of years experience - gender didn't matter.
Cons: Too many people on welfare. I know that some people have no choice but when you see a 20 something year old girl (just an example) with 3 babies living on welfare living with a boyfriend with a good job.....well it just rubs me the wrong way. These are the same people seen at the clubs smoking and drinking and living the life they feel entitled to while the rest of us work so they can get their monthly cheque.
August 2015
HECTIC AND CRAZY EVERY DAY, DO MORE WITH A LOT LESS.
Postmaster:
Pros: There is no more good, to many programs to monitor and not enough time to do so.
Cons: Unrealistic expectations.
January 2015
Overbearing workload. Extremely high stress level.
Postmaster:
Pros: People.
Cons: In 5 years I have gone from managing 15 people in 1 building to 35 people in 5 buildings with no raise.
