Petroleum Engineer Reviews

What is it like working as a Petroleum Engineer?

June 2021
It's like a hard game to embark on!!
Petroleum Engineer in Cairo:
Pros: Nighttime in Cairo...
Cons: Jam-packed streets in the middle of the day!
January 2021
Drinking from a firehose.
Petroleum Engineer in Beaumont:
Pros: There is always something new to learn, whether you want to or not. And you’ll always be given the opportunity to learn and improve.
Cons: There is not enough staffing for the required work to be done, and compensation doesn’t match the amount of work being requested.
December 2020
Petroleum Engineer in Savannah:
Great work culture and talented professionals in the field of work to have a good learning growth at the start of your career. Flexible management and also significant emphasis on research and development to deliver the best product and services to the customers.
November 2019
Professional work environment with the freedom to innovate, management is not always transparent.
Petroleum Engineer in Denver:

Cons: PSM process
October 2019
Rewarding.
Petroleum Engineer in Whittier:
Pros: The ability to work independently and be successful. To have such a flexible schedule
Cons: I love the work I do and I work hard, yet when I asked for a raise to compensate the work I do, or to be paid equivalent to people who do the same type of work, I was met with some pushback. I’m expected to do the job of 4 people, and given more responsibility every day, yet I am expected to not be paid the industry norm because I don’t have an engineering degree...even though I do the work of an engineer.
July 2019
Petroleum Engineer in Houston:
Better than market starting salaries, excellent benefits, no career path if you are not an Italian citizen and ridiculously small raises after hiring (0-1.5%). So you will be considerably below market in 2 years.
January 2019
Started out great, then declined with management change.
Petroleum Engineer in Houston:
Pros: I am a supervisor in charge of other employees and and do not have outside distractions.
Cons: Pay is not competitive, manpower is lacking for the workload.
