PBX Operator:
Take notes while training. There is alot of imformation to know. Do not let it overwhelm you. You'll have the phone system down first, while learning the layout of the hospital. There are many departments that make one hospital for example plant ops(facility maintinance), security 24/7( which you are a type of leasion),emergency dept, administration, 2n, 2c etc., the list goes on. Then you'll hear the Md's names and thier specialties, each has it's own way of being communicated to. There's hospital standards such as CODES that alert hospital personnel, alarms present that are attended to by PBX. Then we have several other ways to communicate, beepers, cell phones, 2 way radios, satilite phone, language lines & TDD. There are many aspects we are envolved in.
