A Fast Paced Learning Environment.
Operations Analyst in Seattle:
Pros: A position as a SOC Analyst is not for everyone. An operations center will challenge your critical thinking abilities as you aim to provide swift and helpful customer service to employees, your stress management skill as things get busy or as natural disasters pick up, as well as your ability to communicate and work with a small-medium sized team of individuals. I enjoy the challenges above and look forward to progressing my career.
I enjoy the companions at my work, also. Without them, it would be much more dull around here, but instead I find us sharing laughs and enjoying the time through various means. I work the graveyard shift, which I enjoy thoroughly, and could even see myself on other shifts doing the same.
There is plenty of overtime to chase after at this time of flux in my company as we are expanding our operations and doubling staffing.
Cons: There are ups and downs of every job and I think the one that jumps out to me the most when I think about my time here is how stress can effect communication; times when stress causes people to react to information that is supposed to help them emotionally instead of rationally and often times negative communication commences. It happens to everyone, of course, but in these times it is important as a team to build trust instead of clashing heads.
The company could provide a better rate of PTO, but it is what it is. I don't have many complaints as I am in a good position for my age, I think.
