It is very rewarding.
Nurse Assistant in Randolph New Jersey:
Pros: They're often times where I don't feel like driving into work because of the distance but then once you get there and you're just able to help someone who is less able to help themselves such as a blind person who can see to eat and need your help or somebody who can't turn from left to right in the bed and needs your help that person who was always independent and is no longer independent and able to help themselves you leave at the end of the day feeling that you've given back something rewarding.
Cons: Some of us are treated by staff members as if we are of no value where talked down to we're not respected because of her skin color where belittled many times we're not allowed to take time off we're forced to bring our children into work with us we have to show proof that we're sick for one day sick day or we have to get on the phone and make a call if we asked that we need some time off to go and take care of a sick parent we need to call in front of Staff in order to see and prove that we're not lying.
