Medical Scribe Reviews
What is it like working as a Medical Scribe?
April 2019
I am the only one there and enjoy working for them. It is a very pleasant place to work.
Medical Scribe in Tuscaloosa:
Pros: The doctors I work for are very pleasant to work with and they seem to enjoy talking to me about medical questions I have as a result of any of the appointments we were in. We also have excellent Medical/Dental/Vision insurance.
Cons: I have not had a raise since I have been employed by them over the past two years and I only make $10/hour. My PTO only builds by 3.08 points per pay period.
December 2018
Underpaid.
Medical Scribe in Vancouver:
Pros: Close to many food options
Cons: Average salary and average rent are not an attainable
June 2017
Rewarding, challenging and fun.
Medical Scribe in Provo:
Pros: I've learned so much since I started this job, even more than expected. E enjoy that this job has many different aspects to keep things challenging, interesting and very rewarding. There is the documentation side, for example coding, that I'm continuing to learn so much about. There is the long term patient relationships that I just enjoy so much. I also really love watching the doctor I scribe for interact and care for our patients; he is a knowledgeable and compassionate individual who continues to amaze me with his skill sas a healer and a physician...a rare combination in my experience.
Cons: Not much to dislike except maybe the one thing that is challenging is sitting for long periods; I've found ways to circumvent that problem for the most part.
October 2015
Very fast paced.
Medical Scribe:
Pros: Helping the doctors that I'm scribing for. Making there days a little less hectic.
Cons: The hourly income is what I don't like most.
June 2015
Life of a Scribe.
Medical Scribe:
Pros: As a Medical Scribe, I love the endless amount of knowledge I'm able to obtain. It's not only beneficial to me, but in the process I'm helping to care for, treat, and assist my patients; which is so rewarding. I'm extremely detail oriented and having the ability to truly justify and express the pain or condition the patient is for* them is such an honor. I'm respected amongst my coworkers and they look to me for direction and guidance as I direct them toward a successful day.
Cons: My least favorite part of my position is the compensation. I do EVERYTHING for these Doctors and my value gets looked over by the "big dogs" all of the time. From reading the HPI, to ordering the procedures, to completing the exam and sending the prescriptions - I do it all. I've even gotten so used to the doctors and each of their styles that I can have a patient diagnosed and treated according to their lab results before I even enter the room - that's wonderful, however, I don't have MD in front of my name and I'm not getting a six figure salary for it.
