Medical Assistant (Certified):
Pros: Very wonderful staff and patients. Very fast paced and busy. No weekend work. Hours are very flexibile.
Cons: At times it can be very stressful due to not having enough staff for the enormous amount of patients we have.

Pros: I enjoy administering vaccines, injections and performing blood work.
Cons: The pay rate is not fair. I'm getting paid the same wage as a medical assistant who does not have a certificate.

Medical Assistant (Certified):
Pros: I love the fact that I work in a facility , I see on a weekly basis that I am part of making a difference in the health of overweight patience. Not just to see the pounds melt off but also to see that blood pressures drop, cholesterol levels drop and diabetic patients sugar levels drop.
Cons: Some times my job can be stressful and demanding. I train new employees and although I take pride in that it sometimes slows me down. .

How little growth in the job, no moving up the managers.
Medical Assistant (Certified):
You are only in that job unless you get more degree or certifications, you learn only that field and do not aid the advancement, You work only with the doctors and those above you tell you to do the job they do not want to do. You are not a manager, you are a worker bee and no advancement is offered to you.

Pros: There are many locations and can transfer within the organization to other specialties and locations.
Cons: Everything is so standardized the providers aren't really allowed to practice with there own style.
