Love My Work, Not The Rewards.
Maintenance Technician:
Pros: Trouble shooting electronic, mechanical and computer systems. I have always loved tinkering, and inventing/adapting electronic solutions to problems. A nice self paced environment, where I have time to do my own projects. And good pay.
Cons: The big company politics. There are so many levels of management that any change, issue, new hire, etc... Takes an act of congress and a long time to complete. Also being expected to do the work of 2 techs with no incentive pay or otherwise due to a dwindling business. The resistance to change has to be the biggest drawback. It's important to note my review is company specific not maintenance in general!
