Maintenance Technician:
I truly enjoy working at the Airport, and IDS had a very family feel for quite a while. Recently, it has become more "corporate", and a bit stingy, but still a good place to work. Full time offers decent benefits, and part time CAN after enough hours.

Being a contractor for Santee cooper.
Maintenance Technician in Charleston:
Pros: I love the hours and the people I work with. I also really enjoy the work we do. Overall I love the job itself.
Cons: I feel I am being paid very unfairly for my previous job experience and the amount of time I have been at Santee cooper. I also have a 2 year associates degree in applied technology majoring in mechatronics. I have been paid the same hourly rate of 14.50 an hour for the year that I have been there and there is no transparency whatsoever as to what the pay scale is and how to make more money. I feel very under appreciated and I feel I deserve much more for what I bring to the table for Santee cooper.

Cons: The pay isn’t the best here for people in my line of work.
