What is it like working as a Lifeguard?

Lifeguard:
Pros: A lot of time to relax. Can read books when not up in the chair or out on deck.

Low Stress - Paid to Tan.
Lifeguard:
Pros: Essentially get paid to tan. Just make sure the swimmers are still alive.
Cons: People assuming that my job is not a lifeguard, but a babysitter. Thereby, allowing there child to do anything and expecting me and my coworkers to deal with it.
August 2014
Not worth it...
Lifeguard:
Pros: The ability to help and protect people.
Cons: It wouldn't be as bad if the pay was better, but the miscommunication and aggregation along with the ridiculous heat and humidity makes for a terrible working environment.

Lifeguard:
Pros: The friendly atmosphere, we get into the water park free, everything is good.
Cons: The pay doesn't seem like enough considering we save lives.

Fun Working Environment.
Lifeguard:
Pros: Getting to socialize with the people I work with and the casual working environment. Plus, getting paid to be in the sun all day is always a major bonus.

Work Flexibility, Stress Level High.
Lifeguard:
