The reason I was put on earth.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
Pros: I love caring for anyone in need. Knowing that people look to me for advise helps me through the day. I know God wanted to do this work and I try to show it though my work everyday.
Cons: Management is hard to communicate with. When there is a scope of practice question it is hard to get an answer out of management about what floor nurses should do.

Know that healthcare is forever changing so bend what you thought you know or learned, may not always be the standard.

Cons: Attention seekers.

Be prepared for a lengthy process in regards to hiring and transitioning.

I want to work with people who are mentally ill.

Pros: I get paid for doing something that I love! I can usually get as much overtime as I need or want.
Cons: I dislike having to walk so far from my parking space to the door of the hospital. Sometimes the ludicrous vagaries of state government just drives me nuts.
