Landman:
Being a landman is an incredibly fun career that allows you to do a plethora of tasks and types of work. Some are much more fun and rewarding than others, so be careful not to pigeonhole yourself into something that you don't like to do. Know the different avenues and tracks within your land department and do what you can to navigate your career in the direction you want.
That being said... Do everything you can to learn every facet and make yourself the most rounded landman possible.
The one major negative... Oil and Gas are commodities, and when the price of oil and gas goes down, so do the job opportunities and you can find yourself faced with layoffs and difficult roads ahead.
