Building the Blocks.
International Marketing Manager:
Pros: The department is new. So I am building everything from the scratch by taking the good industry practices and implementing in my team. So the learning has been great. Also I get to exercise my power well enough to create proper control over my team. I tend not to be very moody. So the team takes me more like a friend / supervisor. That way I gain their trust quicker and better than anybody else. And for the same reason I get my work done by them properly on time. The company also believes in my ability and gives me freedom. So the planning I want to do, most of the time I get to do it.
Cons: Whimsical decisions from the Top Management at times are very difficult to cope up with. Most of the time it changes the direction in my team and hampers workflow. Also recently trying to cut cost in the wrong places - specially cutting on the perks are demotivating for the employees. Due promotions pending more than necessary. Subordinates asking questions about the reasons of some moves made by the management which I dont have proper answer of - these are something making the department volatile and vulnerable.
