Shift can change with little to no notice. Hard with kids.
Industrial Electrician:
Be prepared to learn very fast. In manufacturing they don't care about your families needs. You can come into work in the morning and then be told that you will be starting graveyard tomorrow. Also if you are scheduled to be off at a certain time they can make you stay over with no notice so if you have kids to pick up or something. You better have a backup plan in place. They will fire you if you leave without a second thought.
It is up to you to look out for your safety. This job has dangers and the pay is not entirely in tune with the risk.
It is a fun and challenging career that you will have to continue to learn as technology advances.

Working As An Industrial Electrician.
Industrial Electrician:
Pros: Industrial electrical operations, like automation of equipment and troubleshooting electrical problems.
Cons: Working on lighting and washing floors.

Great company.
Industrial Electrician:
Pros: The most enjoyable aspects include the people I work with and their attitudes towards work and towards each other, the benefits, pension, gym, Christmas party, bonus, rec park. And the pay seems to be about the median for my trade.
Cons: Sometimes rough working conditions, the fact that we are now owned by a company in another country and we do not have a union makes for a uncertain future.
