Hard Work, But Rewarding.
In-Home Support Services (IHSS) Caregiver in Ashland:
Pros: I love that I can help a person live their life and that I can make them feel secure in their ability to do things & receive help. It's also extremely rewarding knowing that I am making a difference to this person.
Cons: It's extremely overwhelming. When you see a person who should be in the prime of their life reduced to needing a caretaker, it's hard. And seeing them suffer is something else entirely.
May 2015
I like the work flexibility.
In-Home Support Services (IHSS) Caregiver:
Pros: Who my client is, when I work, and what I have to do.
Cons: The pay, the hours, and no benefits until after a year. Once you make a year, you have to have so many accumulated hours totaled to actually get the time off. You have to find your own coverage to take the time off too. If no coverage found, no time off.
