Front Desk Agent Reviews
What is it like working as a Front Desk Agent?
May 2019
Knowingly underpaid.
Front Desk Agent in Fort Smith:
Pros: Working directly with people from all different walks of life and feeling that I was able to help them in a meaningful way
Cons: Being underpaid after a year of work, taking out the trash
April 2019
Everyone Walks on Eggshells.
Front Desk Agent in Madera:
Pros: My front desk supervisor and front desk co workers are great.
Cons: Management specifically the General Manager Steve Klien is a ticking time bomb. Either he's happy or angry, and makes irrational decisions that effects whole departments because he's upset. His behavior sets the tone for the other departments managers making them act similar. Becoming normal behavior, it's lawsuits waiting to happen.
April 2019
Don't expect advancement nor anything above mediocrity in terms of pay.
Front Desk Agent in Encinitas:
Pros: The managers did their best even under an incompetent VP who is lacking in vision, common sense, and any ability to do things in a legal and honest manner. The managers were skilled at guest relations, but horribly trained which is to say not properly trained at all. The management actively cultivated a staff that was friendly and responsive no matter the circumstances.
Cons: The further up into the company hierarchy you get the less people actually know how to do their jobs properly. HR was severely lacking in knowledge as was the VP of the company.
April 2019
Challenging rewarding.
Front Desk Agent in Nokomis:
Pros: the diverse group of guests
Cons: grossly underpaid no insurance no overtime
March 2019
Friendly atmosphere.
Front Desk Agent in Oakville:
Pros: the hours, free dinner/breakfast
Cons: sometimes inadequate work hours
March 2019
So-so experience, only good at the start.
Front Desk Agent in Mayagüez:
Pros: Active job, can interact with clients to improve their experience at the hotel
Cons: Employer too stubborn to change, hear or consider employees' ideas or suggestions, employer treats employees like nothing, at whim.
February 2019
Front Desk Agent in Kansas City:
Pros: I like that my efforts and work are often verbally recognized by management. I also like that I am supported by the General Manager and that he wants to support and provide a path for success for me. Management believes in me and continually encourage me to take steps forward and to advance in this industry.
Cons: I wish that my pay reflected my performance. I feel that my value has significantly increased based on various achievements within the company but my wage has not reflected that. If my pay increased, I would be significantly pleased with my job.
