Balanced.
Financial Accountant in London:
Pros: I like numbers and I work with numbers all day using mainly Excel and Peoplesoft. The people around me are friendly and most of the people I deal with on the phone are friendly as well. Enterprise has accommodated my hours to suit schooling toward my CPA. They will also pay for my CPA classes upon completion. I am exposed to different levels of financial accounting and I am given opportunities to learn them as well. I also get discounts on rentals.
Cons: It is January 12th 2017 and it will have been with Enterprise for 3 years on February 10th. I have did not receive a raise last February 10th. The raises are generally 3%, while the group I work for has been grew 60% in the last two years. I believe I am paid below average for my field. We don't have Christmas parties where I can invite my Fiance. The average work week for an accountant is 44 hours and that is what our quoted pay is based off of. I receive only 2 weeks holidays and that does not increase until I have been with the company for 5 years. I have to wear a suit everyday, and my shirts colours can only been white or office blue. There are no incentives for working harder, all they say is that it is your job while people above you make a percentage of commission and do get more for working harder. The desks are not ergonomically correct and are bad for your shoulders. The hierarchy is pyramidal and not flat. You can't flex time.
