What is it like working as a Field Service Engineer?

Exciting war.
Field Service Engineer:
Pros: Love the challenge, troubleshooting. Systematically finding out what would have made the customer give me a call.. I love the idea of trust, the customer depends on me to solve its issues. I also love the knowledge gained in the various technologies, I love the travelling that goes with my work.
Cons: Due to the different time zones, communication is sometimes a challenge, I also hate being idle and not flexible enough to improvise.

Field Service Engineer- Printing Industry.
Field Service Engineer:
To be a better Service engineer for Printing industry, the person should have excellent knowledge about the various number of machines used in the printing industry like sheetfed offset printing machine, book binding machines, lamination machines, box making machines, pre press devices, etc. Should have both mechanical and electronic engineering knowledge. Should have excellent communication skill and quick problem solving skills. Should b capable to work physically laying under machines and climbing on the machines to access the various parts.

OEM Certificate.
Field Service Engineer:
As a FSE we Aker Solutions own the license of pyramid Drilling rigs.
Owr job as field service engineer is to certify this pyramid rig as we are the OEM (Original equipment manufacture)
Supervision for the mast and substructure referbishment and provide the COC ( Certificate of compliance)
And for sure we will be reporitg the work progress day by day.

Pros: Flexibility in work there is not routine.
Cons: Social life consuming, working always under pressure.

Pros: Overview of client's business and assets risks.
Collaboration with insurance brokers, insured, underwriters, field engineering.
Cons: Too much paper work and data analyses.
Some of the clerical work could be handled by automated systems.
