Pros: Geographically close to Lake Tahoe and beautiful hiking and fishing areas; somewhat of a big city feel but without the level of traffic congestion and overcrowded feeling that Los Angeles County has.
Cons: All the fun night life and good restaurants are located near midtown and downtown area, so if you live in one of the metropolitan satellite cities, such as Rancho Cordova, it is a good 20-30 minutes drive to visit downtown.
