Morneau Shepell Is The Walmart Of The Counselling World.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor:
Pros: Job security, for the most part.
Cons: You're viewed as a unit of production. Quantity is emphasized over quality. Horrible hours until you gain seniority (call center). No ladder to climb. No meaningful recognition for good work. But, for all these reasons, plus high attrition of colleagues, job security is high and it doesn't take too long to gain seniority. Job becomes more palatable once you get a couple years of raises and some seniority. But will never stop feeling like working on an assembly line.
