Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic Reviews
What is it like working as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic?
March 2021
Bait and Switch.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic in Grand Junction:
Pros: The people I work with on the ambulance are incredible.
Cons: Admin/HR advertised one job and now we are doing a completely different job. Pay and hours were changed from what was expected. There is zero communication, and admin often avoids giving us answers to questions we ask.
December 2019
Great place to start and retire but not in between.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic in New Orleans:
Pros: the pt contact and the relationship with the people you work with directly as well as the immediate supervisors
Cons: the way the company is run from the main office and just copy pastes how they run the branches instead of allowing the branches to work around the unique challenges each area has. the disconnect that the upper management of the branches have with the way that some areas are run such as making a guy the manager of a area of operations not someone who has worked in the area or has very limited time in the area. the way dispatch is handled with the crews due to not really understanding the areas that they are dispatching (this only applies to the new Orleans area really) due to this lack of knowlage and how hard it can be to get around in a city like new Orleans they put the crews in positions where you are responding to emergencies that at times even with lights and sirens will take almost an hour to get to calls.
November 2019

October 2019
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic in Philadelphia:
Pros: The flexible hours
Cons: My pay rate compare to other employee. In other words, I get pay less compare to those who have little to none experience
September 2019
We dont get pid enough.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic in Whittier:
Pros: I know the area.
Cons: The traffic
August 2019
Literally the worst.
