It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
Editor, Magazine in Sioux City:
Pros: I have much more experience than a number of writers and editors in my city at publications in bigger markets.
Cons: The rate of pay does not equal the rate of pay in Kansas City.
January 2020
The Perfect Stepping Stone.
Editor, Magazine in Springfield:
Pros: I like that there are plenty of opportunities for young professionals to get involved in the community.

September 2019
Good, interesting.
Editor, Magazine in London:
Pros: exciting environment, opportunities
Cons: traffic, chaotic
February 2019
I love what I do, but not who I do it for.
Editor, Magazine in New York:
Pros: I like being able to serve Black women.
Cons: Salary and lack of structure or transparency.
January 2019
Exciting, learn something new everyday.
Editor, Magazine in Los Angeles:
Pros: working around fashion related clients
Cons: the stress that it holds
June 2016
Foresight.
Editor, Magazine:
Find out as much as you can about how well your colleagues collaborate. I wish I had known two or three years ago that there would be no -- or very little -- opportunity here for me to work on other projects or collaborate with other departments. Such opportunities give a worker, no matter what his or her job title, to advance professionally and within the organization by developing other skills and obtaining a better understanding of the industry.
