Dog Kennel Worker Reviews
What is it like working as a Dog Kennel Worker?
June 2019
Great start up job.
Dog Kennel Worker in Dallas:
Pros: I love most everything about it. The people are great to work for/with. The dogs are great (usually). The work is pretty simple, it keeps you on your toes during busy season. This position is great for anyone who loves dogs. I would highly recommend this position for anyone who has interest in the animal care/veterinary field. Also for anyone just out of high school looking for a job to have a little extra money for a time while you look for something more permanent.
Cons: This is something that you would deal with at ANY dog facility, not just The Regal Beagle. Some dog owners are CRAZY!! That also goes for the dogs too, some can be aggressive and hard to deal with. Also, there can be some heart breaking moments. A specific example was that there was a family with three dogs and three cats. All six pets were amazing and super friendly. However, the family had to leave the cats with us because their son was allergic. The cats are still there as of right now. But, it's like they can tell what happened. Because they're still sweet, but they aren't as "in your face" about being pet as they were before. That part is probably the hardest for me, i'd rather get bitten before having to witness another situation like their's again.

Environment/culture is important!
Dog Kennel Worker:
It's all about where you're going to work. The environment and culture/philosophy of the business is extremely important. Even if the animals get great care, if the working environment for you is poor, you'll be miserable. This can be especially challenging in a small business setting where it can be impossible to stay away from people who are best being avoided. Navigating the other people can be much more challenging than working with the dogs. If the environment is not good, you're better off going somewhere else, even if it makes you "look bad." Your happiness is important, and there is somewhere to work that you can match your passion with a good environment.
Working hard and doing a good job is extremely important, too, but it's also important how your work is valued. You can be the best/hardest worker out there, but if you're not appreciated, move on. Again, there is someplace you can go where you will be valued.

Good job, very messy though.
Dog Kennel Worker:
Pros: Cuddling with the puppy's, love the comments from the owners when we give the dogs back.
Cons: They care more about the money then the puppy's, to many dog fights because some dogs are unsocial. Very stressed and always running around during peak seasons e.g Christmas.
