Director of Event Technology Reviews
What is it like working as a Director of Event Technology?
June 2015
Got to be passionate and ready for long hours.
Director of Event Technology:
Pros: The first innitial contact with the client, where we discuss about the client's vision and expectations of their events to the creation onsite and making it better than what the client expected!
Setting up and event with screens, drapes, lights, etc. That looks just amazing is just gratifying!
Making the client happy and look like a hero in front of everyone in the room is what thrives me.
Cons: On a regular slow season, I work between 40 to 70h a week to capture as much clients as possible and get ready for the high season. In which is ok!
But when the busy season comes (2-3 months straight), I can work an average of 16h per day 7 days a week for that time period.
Very hard to recuperate when the slow season comes back and still work and average of 50h per week.
