Digital Marketing Manager Reviews

What is it like working as a Digital Marketing Manager?

April 2016
Digital Marketing.
Digital Marketing Manager:
Pros: At the forefront of the latest digital technologies to enhance the reach of marketing coomunications.
Cons: There are too much noise and clutter in terms of online/digital experience for audiences; attention span becomes too short.

Great in theory. Bad in practice.
Digital Marketing Manager:
Pros: One of the few places to learn ad ops outside of New York or San Francisco. Decent benefits. Company will be around for a while. Lots of variety. Sometimes there are tickets to events.
Cons: Disconnected from both agency and paper. Bad processes, especially in accounting. No understanding of digital in the company. No one handles SEO for the paper, so the inventory is dropping like crazy. Constantly having to train people on things that are not in wheelhouse. No accountability for bad sales. No accountability for poor account management. No accountability for bad creative. High pressure, low payout. Austerity measures, like paid coffee and company store for snacks (higher prices than convenience store down the street) Building still under construction.
March 2016
Digital Marketing Manager:
Pros: I like to create a campaign. In my job I can busy with myself each time.
Cons: Always doing same job so bore.
March 2016
Attention to detail.
Digital Marketing Manager:
Attention to detail is more important that you can ever imagine, perfection is lots of little things done really, really well. Understand your target audience and the content will fall in to place.

Hard work, but should pay off.
Digital Marketing Manager:
Pros: Since my job is with a start-up, my decisions have an impact and work matters. I have also had the ability to rise quickly, given the small company size and relatively flat organizational structure. I have gained experience is basically every single aspect of marketing, from email to affiliate, SEO and more. I have also been exposed to the world of data analysis, which feels like a natural fit and is something I wouldn't have thought to explore without this job. This job is a great mix of my marketing skills gained from my undergrad, my natural inclination towards using numbers to find answers, and my outgoing personality/people skills. I enjoy my coworkers as well.
Cons: I have been spread very thin, and been treated as the "catch all" for jobs others don't want, or consider beneath them. I have been stuck with office administrator duties, some customer support, a little bit of investor relations, etc. I would prefer to be able to focus on just marketing and data analysis so that I can hone my skills, but instead I have to spend a lot of my day doing medial tasks that are necessary for the office to keep running smoothly. Corporate culture is not a priority at all here, and it is very obvious, which is a negative for me.

The management, challenges, benefits, communication,

Cons: Office conditions, uncertainty and job insecurity.

Digital is the way forward.
Digital Marketing Manager:
Pros: I love the inspiration, creativity and ability to link and network, empowering companies future growth through technology, innovation and creative concepts.
Cons: Convincing and show casing the diverse capabilities to Clients and they don't see the extensive competencies and diverse capabilities yet. Slow adoption rate in South Africa.
