Take special note to learn about productivity/adherence, that you can trend to drive performance. Also calculations used with volume arrival rates/handling times/shrinkage to achieve desired/optimal service level targets by converting workload into a workforce requirement both at productive and paid levels. In addition, the importance of understanding schedule efficiency and arrival variance and their effect on requirements. Learn this and share with ops to ensure a healthy partnership between the plan and working towards it. Finally - take note to understand the financial impact of your role. Along with a heightened customer experience - efficiency gains and forecast accuracy can really assist the competitiveness and/or bottom line for your company and is a major factor in the reason this role exists - a good planner can pay for themselves many times over.
