Data Security Analyst Reviews
What is it like working as a Data Security Analyst?
October 2022
It's about experience, not pay.
Data Security Analyst in Arlington:
Pros: I love that I get to work with major government clients and feel like I'm contributing to something much bigger than myself or even my firm (BAH). I like that I get to use my degree in cybersecurity and develop my technical skills while also building on soft skills like communication and public speaking, which is something I have always feared/struggled with.
Cons: I am aware that BAH does not pay as competitively as some of the other (big 4) consulting firms. I wish that they did, and perhaps they'll suffer for it in the end. But I will say, in my opinion, working at BAH is more about gaining valuable experience. I think many people come without the intention of staying more than 3-5 years, getting it on their resume, and jumping ship.

Great Atmosphere, Uncertain Advancement.
Data Security Analyst in Washington:
Pros: I like the people here, and the opportunity to grow and learn simply by talking to people. It's simply difficult to understand how one potentially moves to other contracts or internal employment opportunities within the company. Salary advancement is also a bit opaque, as the company in 2018 has focused on mergers and acquisitions. Given the merger process, they've needed time to re-evaluate how career growth is defined and how it occurs. I'm confident that this will not be an issue in 2019.
Cons: Continued learning and education seminars are not as good as some companies I've been with such as Accenture or Booz Allen Hamilton, but I'm certain that is subject to change as the merger processes continue to solidify.
November 2018
Data Security Analyst:
Pros:
Great culture, average benefits, if one is willing to move, a lot of opportunities. Not for those seeking a single role that would span their careers. Great organization for lifelong learners.
Cons:
Unclear promotion criteria, most of your customers are government agencies and they are bureaucratic and very slow to change.

It Is A Great Job To Have.
Data Security Analyst:
Pros: I like it because it is doing something I know and like doing.
I have a flexible work schedule.
Stress Level is low.
The office is a comfortable atmosphere to work in.
Cons: Can't seem to get hired as a full time employee even though I am on my 3rd "Contract to Hire" position here at the company.
