July 2022
Little Direction in Data Engineering roles.
Data Engineer in Keene:
Pros: The hours are relaxed and limited
Cons: The pay is very sticky, you're fighting both the client and BAH for pay increases since clients don't want to pay more for you and BAH doesn't want to pay you more and uses the client to justify not increasing your salary. Over 3 years I've seen a total of 1.75% salary adjustment.
July 2022
Great growth opportunity, under appreciated and over worked.
Data Engineer in Johannesburg:
Pros: Get to work with clients across various sectors of industries.
Get to work independently and thus learn to take initiative in self-growth
Cons: Feeling underappreciated due to salary and engagement with HR.
HR seems to be more about hiring new people than keeping current staff - there is no people centered approach to their model it seems.
No transparency from Executives as to the movements of one between clients.
June 2022
Too expensive after some years.
