The Customer Always Comes First, and is ALWAYS Right.
Customer Support Engineer:
You've heard the above before. However, always work by these 3 rules at Sungard. RULE 1 Despite what you have been "told", unless you receive a non-expire email. NEVER say "No", or "We can't...". If you do, you will find the limb you are standing on has been cut out from under you. No one in the entire management structure will back you up, you become the sacrificial lamb, with the full force of management on your back. It will cost you in merit, or bonus $. RULE 2 If you receive an email that states you, your team, or your business segment can not fulfil the request. You should still approach the issue with CAUTION, as you will not be able to forward the email to the client as proof of you were told, without impacting on the relationship you have built with your customer. The email is only meant for internal use, it is your get out of jail card. However, keep in mind the individual that provided you the email will NEVER FORGET you used it. RULE 3 NEVER, NEVER, EVER SAY NO.
