It’s a stressful job but only meant for the strong minded. You deal with hundreds of different personalities and you have to keep your head on a swivel.

Pros: I like teaching new staff how to be a better officer and it’s anxious not knowing what each day can bring.
Cons: Dealing with negativity from inmates that are unruly however that’s all apart of the job and is expected.

Cons: Pay is avg, stressful, don't feel heard, DOC seems more concerned about their image than doing what corrections was meant for, cater to inmates their families and legislation too often.
