Communications Technician Reviews
What is it like working as a Communications Technician?
February 2023
Very enjoyable to be trusted to do my job on my own.
Communications Technician in St. Louis:
Pros: Working in the field
Cons: Be managed on by numbers on paper instead of work ethic
September 2022
Radio Tech/shop boy.
Communications Technician in Moses Lake:
Pros: My work is sometimes exciting and fulfilling! I have traveled all over Washington installing VHF and UHF mobile radios in all kinds of police vehicles, fire vehicles and DOT vehicles! When I have work to do, the work is challenging and exciting.
Cons: When I don't have work to do, I get left behind at the shop with little to nothing to do. I change lightbulbs, I drop of a package at UPS, I flatten cardboard and take out the trash. Granted I'm the young guy who has to do what the boss says, but I would hope to be treated like an equal, a part of the same mission as everyone else.
April 2022
Great weather - horrible traffic.
Communications Technician in Brisbane:
Pros: Most people are chill, though the local house market has over-boomed. The average person spends most of their cash in accommodation now, which is bringing about a noticeable dip in the local economy.
Cons: Traffic, overpriced housing.
April 2021
Communications Technician in Tucson:
The organization is only wanting to hire and promote those near retirement. They want people to have 25 years of experience in order to be promoted. In this way, those that are promoted are not worried about pay. The pay is half of what the private sector pays. The pay scale is not really a pay scale, a person always starts at the bottom. Easy job, good for those either with no experience looking to start somewhere or those near retirement looking to ease into retirement.
January 2020
Stressful but fun with continual learning.
Communications Technician in Oceanside:
Pros: Organized , discipline, working with Marines.
Cons: No matter how hard I work, a lazy half-performance working Marine with the same rank gets paid the same as I do.
October 2019
Self Driven, highly varied, technically challenging Communications Tech.
Communications Technician in Phoenix:
Pros: Lots of variety and self directed assignments.
Cons: outsourcing of critical company services. lack of forethought on the needs of system users vs implementation of technologies.
August 2019
I work in nashville.
Communications Technician in Hendersonville:
Pros: I work in nashville
Cons: I work in nashville
