March 2015
The best job ever.
Clinical Nurse Leader:
Pros: The thing I like most about the job I have are the people I work with. The employees I work with areteam oriented, patient centered and hardworking. They make the long hours and the hard tasks so much easier.
Cons: The thing I like least about my job is the staff recidivism. In healthcare there is a large number of people that move from job to job for multiple reasons. However keeping the unit properly staffed for patient safety and staff satisfaction is by far my least favorite part of the job.

Great Job That Provides Constant New Challenges And Learning.
Clinical Nurse Leader:
Pros: I love managing the team that I have, we have a strong common focus on providing excellent nursing care to the patients that we look after. I am fortunate enough to be able to work both clinically and in a managerial role so get the best of both worlds.
Cons: Unfortunately due to the banding system of the NHS I do not currently feel that my salary reflects the important role that I play in managing a critical care unit and the responsibility that comes with it.
