Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) Reviews

What is it like working as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT)?

October 2015
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT):
Pros: There are several avenues job-seeking pharmacy technicians can take, including advanced certification programs for technicians who want to specialize in an area, such as drug therapy, pharmacy law or medical distribution.
Cons: One challenge is interacting with patients who are not always feeling well. The majority of your customers that you’re going to be dealing with are sick, whether it be a cold or sinus infection or a much more serious and a chronic condition.

Gloria's Experience working at Wal-Mart Pharmacy.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT):
Pros: Almost Everyone that í work with is caring & has been very supportive after finding out my husband had cancer. My Pharmacy manager worked with me with my schedule so í can be with my husband while doing his chemotherapy treatments.
Cons: I'm dehydrated all the time. We are not allowed to bring water bottles although the pharmacist are able to. We are also not allowed to use the bathroom only the pharmacist are able to. So on an average on a busy day we have to hold it until we get a little time to walk outside the pharmacy and walk out to use one of the restrooms in the store. It is very inconvenient and It's a little unfair.

Change is good.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT):
In pharmacy, it's good to perfect what you know, but don't be afraid to switch companies or toles every 2 to 3 years. Technicians who do this tend to make 50% more over the course of their lifetime. You will pick up additional skills to make you valuable and while you might get a 2 to 3% raise each year with your employer, you could get 8-10% or more by switching jobs.
June 2015
It's ok. .....sometimes.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT):

Cons: Rude and mean customers!
