What is it like working as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)?

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
It is not as easy as you think. But get yourself in a routine, treat your patients the way you want to be treated and you will always learn and go home knowing you did something good. I always can feel a self reward after helping someone in need.

Its a paycheck.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
Pros: The paycheck helps pay some of my bills.
Cons: The gossip and the pay.
July 2014
Dont get frustrated.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
Realize that although the resident(s) you will be assisting are in a nursing home environment some of them only need tobe looked after. Do not treat these people as if the are babies or incompetent. Give them respect that you would want someone to give your loved one. The best CNA isnt one who is there to make money... Cause trust me maybe just once in your lifetime you may found a job that pays well enough. She/he is someone who in fact is... 1. Truly in love with the idea of caring for the residents. 2. Puts the residents needs in front of their own outside problems. 3.Always ALWAYS has the right word(s) to say to make someone's stay that much better. It is stressful it is messy it is frustrating..... But all at the of the day if tell yourself there is no other job better than this... You in fact a wonderful CNA!
Putting someone else's needs ift.

I Love My Residents.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
Pros: Caring for those who are unable to care for themselves, making a them laugh and feel human and not just a patient number. Listening to their life stories and loving them for who they are.
Cons: Nurse's don't listen to the CNA's about problems or concerns a resident is having such as pain, loneliness, anxiety etc.
