Cancer Registrar Reviews

What is it like working as a Cancer Registrar?

August 2020
Intriguing.
Cancer Registrar in Hastings:
Pros: Working independently utilizing my Gallup strengths.
Cons: Being the only person who knows what I do.
April 2020
Gathering Data on Cancer Patients to Make a Difference.
Cancer Registrar in Saint Paul:
Pros: finding correct answers, reviewing abstracts from reporting hospitals, really digging into charts to "get" the cancer picture of the individual, learning anatomy
Cons: Not being able to ever have on-site meetings with co-workers. It is very easy for the remote worker to be left out of decision making or even being informed of new policy.
July 2019
Cancer Registrar in Belleville:
Great place to work. Pro's they pay for extra expenses such as internet & travel. You can earn a production bonus quarterly. Cons - they did not do a great job in training on new computer programs required to do my job.
September 2016
Training is all online.
Cancer Registrar:
Pros: Work from home except one day a week. Challenging. Find an office that is laid back and willing to train your first year- hard to find.
Cons: The pay. Starting out before your CTR certified, the pay is 17 an hour or so. Emory posts it pay scale and starts at 18.90 with mid range at 25.00. Just an fyi, but your foot in the door for that first year and get your certification- then you can expect 60,000 a year.
