Cabinet Assembler Reviews

What is it like working as a Cabinet Assembler?

September 2017
Working with my hands gives me a sense of satisfaction.
Cabinet Assembler in Kennesaw:
Pros: I like working with my hands and the sense of satisfaction I get from completing a kitchen. I enjoy "staging" the cabinets (custom designed) the way they will be once installed. I enjoy reading the elevations and installing hardware(blum drawer guides, rev-a-shelf products, hinges..). Enjoy using my tools. Home depot has become a toy store to me. Our shop has large machinery too.. We have a CNC and I've learned a lot about running it at a fast pace and enjoy working hard to be the most time efficient in order to score the overtime pay. I'm also fast at the assembly part which is where I'm most valued (2nd to some of the CNC cuts.) Having the keys to the shop to work on personal projects basically anytime I ask. Working for good people (family owned and operated company)
Cons: The pay. Not managing anything or being put in charge more. Putting in countless overtime and sweat and not being promoted to being over the people that I have clearly worked harder than. High pressure (stress) to complete task or job within short time frame. Lack of proper preparation/planning on managements end. Poor communication on goals from managers.
July 2017
An alright start job.
Cabinet Assembler in Newark:
Pros: Not need to deal with managers or supervisors, you get to work do your hours and go home.
Cons: Sometimes the planning is incorrect or even the inventory is damaged.
