Business Intelligence Specialist:
I find that CHI Franciscan is behind the times in technology and usage and support of data. Most of management is old school in how they do things. Nice enough people but hard to be a techie type person without support.

Business Intelligence Specialist in Auckland:
Pros: I love to help the hospital staff to drive better decision making. This is a personal love of mine to be able to mix my health knowledge with my technical skill, plus troubleshooting is enjoyable and challenging, everyday is different.
Cons: I get paided less than the people I train that are learning my role. Being a women in technology im pay alot less than my equals. I work many hours unpaid for, I don't get recognised for the work I do and feel used. The pay disparity by gender is disgraceful.

Make Sure You Think About The Future.
Business Intelligence Specialist:
If you like working fairly independently, this is a good job for you. Depending on where you work and who you work for, you can spend a lot of time alone with just your laptop. If you need more interaction, or need to be a part of the decision making process, this job won't always be for you. Especially, I find that the bigger the company, the more pigeon holed I get and the less visibility I have to the projects I would like to be involved in. Being persistent, proactive and organized go a long way with my job.
